Turn an old skirt into a new one with Ruffles!

I’ve had this skirt since I was in high school; it just is not flattering on me at all…..SO I decided to fix it.

BEFORE:

First I took it in on the sides to add some curves to the skirt.

Then I cut it in half, and used the bottom for the ruffle.

I didn’t want a strait ruffle, I wanted it to go up my leg, so I drew in the triangle and then cut it out of only the front. I then made my ruffle and sewed it to the bottom.

And TaaDaa!!!!…Here’s my new skirt without paying a penny!

I’ve thought about adding a cute bow where the ruffle comes up higher on the leg….What do ya think add it or no?

Quietbook!!!!!!!!

I have finally finished most of my pages for my quietbook and I’m finally posting it!…….I have about 6 more pages I hope to be adding soon (I’ll post them as I finish them).

I made it so it closes with a button; it should be able to expand with more pages. I also put button holes in all the pages and then have used metal rings so I can add and take out pages as she grows!

Now for the pages:

This is the page I am most proud off! Noah’s Arc with finger puppet animals. ….I have many more animals to make. If you look close you’ll see even my clouds are fluffy!

Cart/High Chair Cover....

I've gotten tired of my baby sucking on the grocery cart

...so here is the solution.

This was very easy to make. I had a pattern but ended up not following all the instructions cause they made it harder then it needed to be. I love the pink fabric, gotta love the sale rack! I'll add a pic after our first time using it!

Cooler For my Diaper Bag!!

There have been a lot of times that I've wanted to keep a snack cold but haven't had anything to put it in. So......with some leftover fabric from my diaper bag and some thermal batting from JoAnn's I made my own.

It was very simple, but the thick thermal batting was sometimes frustrating!!

The Perfect Diaperbag!

This has to be one of my favorites!!
I made my own pattern for this diaper bag; and now it's perfect for all of my needs.
Here it is:
I love the colors and fabric!
You can't tell here, but it really is huge!

I loved how the button turned out! I got this idea from another bag pattern I have and just adapted it to the way I wanted, you might have to enlarge it to see what I did.

I love the inside!! There are pockets on each side (I planned their sized based on what I would use them for) and the divider makes is so much easier to stay organized!

HINT: If you decide to make your own pattern I would draw out your pattern on tissue paper and then cut it out. This made it much easier for me, it was big enough so I didn't have tape pages together.

Here you can kinda see how big it is.
I LOVE IT!!!!

I used home decor fabric for the outside and the lining as well - I wanted it sturdy!
I also used fusible interfacing so my bag is really firm.
And for the base and I got a plastic net from JoAnn's that is used for yarn needle projects; it works perfectly and it was only $1.
In summary........ I LOVE MY DIAPER BAG!
I really feel stylish now!

Nursing Cover!

Yep...I'm making nursing covers now! I think they are super fun and very easy!
In my opinion the key is to find good boning for the neck.
I have a cover that won't say up and is more of a pain than anything.

I must say this sewing project was a success!
When I finished it I wanted to keep it for myself - I like it A LOT more then the one I have!
I am selling these so if you're interested let me know.
They are a must have for nursing moms!

I love Decorative Pillows!!

Our bed has looked SO plain and I found this fabric in the remnants basket at JoAnn's!! As soon as I saw it I knew just what to make....... PILLOWS!!I have to say that this picture doesn't do it justice!...Our room looks so much better now!
It was a little more challenging then the previous pillows I've made, but I like these better.
Ya know it's good when the hubby says,..."Wow dear those look like a professional made them!"
Made my day!
Now on to the next project!!

Pink & Brown, Polka Dot & Stripe Ring Sling

I think I have just made my favorite ring sling so far!!!
I made this for a friend of mine, and I have to admit I wish this one was mine! It has the pocket in the front to hold pacifiers and toys!
The fabric is so cute! Brown pink stripes with pink and white polka dots!
These are my favorite baby shower gift!!! You know who to call if you need one!!)
